Anne Widdicombe MP, who has held posts as Minister of State at the Home Office and Shadow Home Secretary during her long and varied life in politics, kept 170 business people thoroughly entertained at a Gala lunch held on 13 January at Phyllis Court Club, Henley-on-Thames.
The erstwhile star of 'Have I Got News For You' and author of 4 books gave a informative and humorous insight into her political and TV career before answering questions.
The event was the first to be hosted in 2009 by Thames Valley First, a long established Reading based group formed to support the business community in the Thames Valley by providing a stimulating forum to further progress the area's economic well-being.
Managing Partner Roger Hicks is a member of the Thames Valley First Steering Group and is pictured (centre) with Ms Widdecombe and other members of the team.
