Hicks Baker expand retail department

17 December 2009

Hicks Baker, one of Reading's leading independent commercial property consultancies, has recruited a graduate surveyor to expand its retail department.

Helen Morris, who graduated from South Bank University with a Masters in Estate Management, will be working with Fiona Brownfoot, Head of Retail and Leisure.

The decision to expand the retail team follows the appointment of Hicks Baker on new instructions including Templars Square Shopping Centre in Oxford and The Galleries Shopping Centre in Aldershot.

Hicks Baker is the only Reading firm with a dedicated retail department, headed by a partner, currently dealing with over 400,000 sq ft of retail space.

Helen will also be involved in ongoing acquisitions for Warren Evans, a leading bed manufacturer, to extend its network of showrooms in the South East.

Fiona Brownfoot, Partner at Hicks Baker said: "The demand for our retail services has increased significantly, especially with new instructions for two shopping centres and ongoing agency work.

I'm delighted Helen has joined us and we look forward to continuing to expand our retail operation."

As part of her training to become a chartered surveyor Helen will also work with other areas of the business.
