Hicks Baker, acting jointly with Doherty Baines and Managed Office Solutions on behalf of Shoosmiths, has let Regents Gate in Crown Street, Reading to Spire Healthcare.
Regents Gate is a modern 15,594 sq. ft. self-contained office building located close to The Oracle just south of Reading Town Centre and was Top 30 law firm Shoosmiths' Reading headquarters prior to their move to Apex Plaza.
Spire Healthcare will be taking an assignment of the lease which expires in October 2015. The current rent passing is £310,000 exclusive, equating to £19.88 per sq.ft
Shoosmiths has had an office in Reading for 35 years and it now employs 135 staff in the city, providing a full range of commercial legal services spanning property, corporate and banking, commercial, employment and dispute resolution. Carol Light, Shoosmiths Firmwide Facilities Manager, said: "We made the bold decision to invest in a move to Apex Plaza to accommodate our growing teams. We're delighted to assist Spire Healthcare's development with its move to our former premises at Regents Gate".
